GEKKŌ

Japanese inspired steakhouse and lounge

  • SEXY FISH Miami’s newest hotspot, opened in spring 2022. The London import is in Brickell. Except expensive sushi, fancy drinks, and the ultimate seen or be seen environment.

  • GEKKO Dave Grutman teamed up with Bad Bunny to bring us fall 2022’s hottest opening. A Japanese Steakhouse with sushi, you won’t want to miss this Miami hotspot.

  • DIRTY FRENCH Major Food Group has done it again, this time with another trendy steakhouse located in the Brickell neighborhood. Don’t miss the bar pre or post dinner for excellent vibes.

  • SOCIALISTA the private, invite-only upstairs club at Cipriani’s Miami location. Socialista is a representation of how the privileged pre-revolution Habaneros lived, a Caribbean playground, filled with the romance, excitement, music and flavors of the Cuban socialite culture.

  • VILLA AZUR come for the French-inspired Mediterranean cuisine and stay for the people watching and performances.

  • MILA best known as the first place to have fire dancers as dinnertime entertainment in South Beach. One of the more difficult reservations to get in Miami right now.

  • MARION located in Brickell. A sceney dinner spot that puts on a show for guests around 9 PM. The same owners as Bâoli (located in South Beach), you can expect a similar vibe.

  • CARBONE the NYC Italian classic opened up in Miami during fall 2020, following its customers as they migrated south for the winter. Arguably the most difficult reservation to get in Miami right now. Known for their infamous homemade pasta and pasta sauce.

  • STRAWBERRY MOON a new contemporary, high-energy Mediterranean restaurant, bar, and day-to-night swim club at The Goodtime Hotel. Miami nightlife king, David Grutman, opened his latest project in April 2021, smack dab during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I personally haven’t been yet, but Strawberry Moon and The Goodtime Hotel both come highly recommended for its see and be seen atmosphere.

  • LOS FUEGOS can’t go wrong with Argentinian food at the Faena Hotel.

  • PAO modern Asian cuisine also at the Faena Hotel.

  • MATADOR ROOM for Latin fusion known for its healthy + fresh ingredients

  • HAKKASAN head over to the Fountainbleu to indulge in Japanese-fusion dishes at this famous international chain with locations in London, the Middle East, and Asia. Their only other US location is in Las Vegas. Delicious sushi and sake cocktails.

  • KATSUYA solid sushi option located inside the SLS hotel on South Beach.

  • JOE’S STONE CRAB is an old school, classic Miami spot with white table cloths and fine dining. They are known for their King Crab and they do not take reservations.

  • BÂOLI the same owners as Marion (located in Brickell), you can expect a similar vibe.

  • CHOTTO MATTE is a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in SoBe. My first time here was with a bachelorette party and we had a blast. Our waiter was very accomodating of food allergies/sensitivities. We did a prix fixe menu and it did not disappoint. A great price point for a group (READ — not too expensive) and really delicious food with ample proportions.

  • KOMODO is a very trendy choice for high-end Southeast Asian plates & drinks served in a swanky, multilevel space. Go here on a Friday or Saturday night and you’ll almost certainly run into a few celebrities.
